Animals
Animal Word Search Puzzles
Animal names are a practical first theme because they are short, familiar, and easy to check against a word bank. This shelf splits the topic by habitat instead of mixing whales with chickens. Forest Animals stays on a 12 × 12 Easy grid with left-to-right and top-to-bottom paths, which is a calm way to introduce a new solver to the letter grid. Ocean Animals moves to Medium so names such as jellyfish can travel on a diagonal. Farm Animals returns to Easy with barnyard words most households already know. Birds Around Us mixes backyard species with a few raptors. Small Creatures is the Hard set: insect names run long, reverse directions are allowed, and a three-letter word such as ant can hide in the filler if you are not careful.
Each Play button opens the interactive player with that list. Print sends the same words to the worksheet station. Load in generator opens the main workshop with that set selected. Words were chosen as ordinary English animal names, not invented species. If you want a pet name on the sheet, add it in the custom maker and keep the rest of the forest or farm list.

Animal puzzle questions
Why is Small Creatures marked Hard?
Caterpillar and grasshopper need a longer path, and Hard allows reverse compass directions. That combination hides short names more easily than an Easy farm list.
Can I add my own pets?
Yes. Copy a list into the custom maker and replace any name. Keep at least three valid entries.
Do the ocean words include scientific names?
No. The lists use common English names such as dolphin and starfish.
